Which personal data we collect and why

 

COMMENTS

When the visitor of our website leaves a comment, we collect data specified in the form as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser’s signature to improve spam filtering.

Anonymised sequence of signs created on the basis of your email address (the so-called hash) can be sent to Gravatar in order to check if you use it. Privacy policy of Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. When your comment is accepted, your profile picture is visible in the context of your comment.

 

MEDIA

 

If you are a registered user and you upload pictures on the website, you should avoid sending pictures with EXIF localisation tags. The visitors can download and read complete localisation data from the pictures on the website.

If you leave a comment on our website, you will have a possibility to save your login, email address and website’s address in cookies. Thanks to that, the aforementioned information will be already there when you write your next comments. The cookies expire after a year.

 

If you have an account and log in on the website, we’ll create a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. The cookie doesn’t include any personal data and will be deleted when you close the browser.

 

While logging in, we additionally create some cookies necessary for saving your login information and selected screen options. Login cookies expire after two days and screen option ones after a year. If you choose the option “Remember me”, login will be expired after two weeks. If you log out, login cookies will be deleted.

 

If you modify or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. The cookie doesn’t include any personal data; it only shows the id of the edited text. It expires after one day.

Texts on the website may include embedded content (e.g. films, pictures, articles etc.). Embedded content from other websites works analogically to the situation in which the user visited the website directly.

If you leave a comment, its text and metadata will be saved indefinitely. Owing to that, we are able to recognise and accept further comments automatically; sending them to the moderation each time is unnecessary. 

 

For users who registered at our website (if they are), we also keep personal information filled in the profile. Each user can look through, correct or delete their personal information any time (except for login which can’t be changed). The administrators of the website can look through and modify the information as well.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS CONCERNING YOUR DATA

 

If you have an account or you added comments on the website, you have a right to request a file with exported complete set of your personal data we keep, including the data you gave us. You can also ask us to delete all your data we have. It doesn’t refer to the data we are obliged to keep due to administrative, legal or safety reasons.
